Janet Murray is an award-winning journalist, editor, media consultant and trainer.

A specialist in education and social affairs, she’s written for numerous national and trade publications including the Guardian, Telegraph, Times and TES. In 2010 and 2012, she was a finalist in the CIPR Education and Skills Groups Education Journalist of the Year awards. 

She’s also the founder of the Last Word media consultancy and a visiting lecturer in journalism at Goldsmiths, University of London. 

A big fan of early mornings, and a recent running convert, Janet can often be found jogging around the North Downs at daybreak. She’s also a keen amateur musician and singer, and a professional shopper.

Janet is an experienced public speaker and media pundit. Recent appearances include the Radio 4’s The Moral Maze, BBC London’s Vanessa Show and ITV’s This Morning.

She lives in Kent with her husband and daughter.
